Members of the Spokane Area Volleyball Referees Association voted Sydney Spray official of the year, and her mom, Debbie Spray, partner of the year. Assigner and referee Alan Hirayama was voted contributor of the year, Kody Wynn top first-year official, Corbin Wilson top second-year official and most improved, Tyler Martindale top third-year official. Retired referee Ron Walker was honored for his contributions over 30 years.
Four SAVRA officials worked state high school tournaments in Yakima: Brent Radford, 2A/4A; Heide Wehr, 1A finals; Sydney Spray, 2B finals; and Barb Silvey, 1B/2B. Patty Kells worked the Northwest Athletic Conference finals in Tacoma. The incoming board of directors and advisers are president Brent Radford, past president Devin Darrough, vice president Veronica Douglas, secretary Jason Gonwick, treasurer Phil Robinson, assigner Alan Hirayama, members at large Alex Collins, Shawn Ottosen, Shawna Sheehan and Corey Brantley. The trainers are Barb Twohig, Linda Kildew, Sheehan, Ottosen, Hirayama and Juli Argotow-Jones.
